Your Move insists “No breach of data” after documents taken from branch

The beleaguered Your Move estate agency insists there was no breach of customer privacy after an ex-employee reportedly took confidential data including customers' contact details from a branch in London. 

Your Move is already at the centre of a controversial restructuring which may see up to a reported 500 job losses between that brand and Reeds Rains.

To add to its problems, now the Barking and Dagenham Post says a member of the public contacted the local Your Move branch last November, claiming that a former employee removed printed details of between 14 and 50 people over a 10 month period. 

The publication says Your Move insists no breach of confidentiality took place but the newspaper also says it has itself “seen evidence that clients were receiving personal contact from employees not acting on behalf of Your Move.”

Estate Agent Today was last evening told by Your Move’s parent firm LSL Property Services: “We confirm again that following an in-depth independent internal investigation we can provide assurances that there has been no breach of customer data privacy and that the ex-employee has no access to any customer data Your Move manages.

“In summary while we are not able to disclose details of our data security system, we are able to confirm that there has been no detrimental impact on the privacy of any of our customers.”

The publication says the documents taken from the premises include print-outs of emails sent to the sales team, and leads detailing the names, addresses and contact phone numbers of prospective clients.

The related documents are said to have been handed back to a Your Move employee late last year.
