Agents Do Charity - and there's mud flying everywhere…

Hello and welcome to this week’s ADC - yet more examples of stupendous fund-raising by our industry (and a lot of it seems to be muddy…)

The Agents Giving Love Mud Challenge This fantastic event, hosted by Nuclear races and supported by EAT and Angels Media, takes place this Sunday May 19.

Everyone wishes all the teams the best of luck - those teams include entries from Paramount, Northfields, Thomas Morris, Absolute Properties, Eurolink, Drivers & Norris, Antony Pepe, Angels Media and an exclusive PropTech team featuring individuals from The Depositary, Dataloft, Growtion, Ask Porter, Loop Software, Cluttons, Keller Williams UK, Base Property Specialists, Properganda PR and more.

So if you are looking for a great day out this weekend then The Agents Giving Love Mud Challenge is taking place at Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex at the Nuclear Races bunker estate.

It is a festival weekend of fun, food, stalls and entertainment for the whole family including live music, in the event village spectator zone you can watch obstacles and enjoy the activities on offer, you can even take the tractor shuttle to the death slide and zip lines to spot the teams.  

It’s £3 cash for spectators and free to under 12’s, there is also free parking.   

Oh, and Angels Media have an all ladies team entered – go girls!

The Rainbow Trust: Many congratulations from ADC to Subiton agency Humphrey and Brand, which held a cake bake and invited friends and families to contribute items to sell.  

Office manager Anne Duffy tells us: “We raised £509.40 in total and had a great day.”

The Regent’s Park Music Festival: London agency Sandfords is sponsoring this event, a series of free live concerts running throughout the summer.

From June 22 and then every Sunday and the Bank Holiday Monday until September 8, The Regent’s Park bandstand will come alive with a variety of music performances lasting all afternoon from 12.30 to 5.30pm.

This year, The Regent’s Park Music Festival has joined forces with the Marylebone Music Festival and the Jewish Music Institute.

The festival was first held in 2017 with only one concert on the bandstand; last year 12 concerts attracted audiences of up to 500 people; but this year’s it’s bigger and better and here’s the schedule.

Sandfords director Andrew Ellinas says: “We are delighted to be able to support such a wonderful event, one that will certainly brighten up Sunday’s in the Park. It will be a fantastic free treat for all the family!”

Southern Spinal Injuries Trust and Horatio's Garden: The managing director of Japanese Knotweed Ltd, Simon Wreford, has accompanied by family and friends, climbed Kilimanjaro.

It involved trekking for seven days during the wet season, and has so far raised £4,931.21 - and here’s the donation site if you want to give.

Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service: A team of 13 from Fine & Country’s Lancaster and North Lancs and Windermere offices has completed the Badass Mucker, a 5k race filled with over 30 obstacle.

Bessie Hallam from Fine & Country Lancaster says: “The day was a great success and everyone really enjoyed it. It was a tough course and we were so grateful to have a large team to help each other over the taller obstacles, like the hay bales and through the mud baths.”

The team wants to raise £2,746.25 and the donation page is here.

British Heart Foundation: Beresfords agency’s five-person Mud Monsters team has completed the Maldon Mud race, raising over £400.

Alex D’andrea, marketing executive, ays: “It’s my second year taking part, and I have to say it is always such  good fun. We all came out absolutely covered, but you really can’t help but laugh. Its great team bonding as you all gee each other on.”

Epilepsy Scotland: Computershare Loan Services has donated £2,500 to Epilepsy Scotland to help people with the condition access benefits and improve their wellbeing.

The charity says that confusion over benefit entitlements is a major source of distress for those with epilepsy, and the donation will help them employ a new full-time officer who will provide information on their entitlement.

Andrew Jones, Computershare Loan Services’ chief executive, says: “They’re a fantastic charity that provides targeted support for people with the condition across Scotland, empowering them to live a life far freer from distress.”  

Last year, Epilepsy Scotland secured over £700,000 for its clients.

Fine & Country Foundation: The foundation is reintroducing its Warwickshire Golf Day on June 20.

Players will enjoy an 18-hole course at Leamington & County Golf Club in a four-ball set up. Teams and individuals will compete for the coveted prize plaques for the ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest the pin’.

Mark Griffiths of Fine & Country Leamington Spa says: “This is the second charity golf event we are hosting to raise money and awareness for the foundation because homelessness is an awful ordeal for the individuals who sleep in doorways, on park benches or move between hostels every night.”
