Long-standing London independent agency rebrands to franchise network

A London independent agency has joined the franchise network of Hunters.

Regent 2000 Properties, which operates in Camden Town, is seeing its office rebranded at Hunters - there are already nearby Hunters branches in West Hampstead, Stoke Newington and Tottenham.

Hunters, which opened its first office in York in 1992 and its first franchising branch in 2006, now has a network of over 200 branches nationwide. 

Fahmy El-Gamal, who set up Regent 2000 Properties over 25 years ago, says he is “ecstatic” about the move to Hunters, adding: “With our passion, drive and commitment to deliver results for our clients and a strong team with unrivalled knowledge of the nuances of the area within which we operate, we look forward to establishing ourselves as Camden’s go-to estate agent.”

Meanwhile Glynis Frew, chief executive of Hunters, says: “The brand continues to go from strength to strength against the backdrop of a challenging marketplace, with a combination of fantastic customer service, local expertise and an extensive technological offering ensuring we continue to offer a market-leading service.”

Recently the chairman of Hunters, Kevin Hollinrake MP, told the company’s shareholders that it was hoping to attract independents who may be find the group’s economies of scale attractive.

Hollinrake specifically cited reductions in portal costs of up to 60 per cent which he said could be achieved through Hunters’ bargaining position.
