New prime London property portal recruits big industry names

A new portal for the prime London property market has launched this week, recruiting a string of big-name agents. 

Vyomm, founded by Utsav Goenka, aims to help high-end agents list and sell expensive properties in the capital. 

As well as traditional portal listing features, the site has a referral tool and an 'off-market' zone, which allows agents to market properties discreetly, with listings 'self-destructing' after a given time period.

The portal also allows a range of encrypted messaging functions alongside CRM and content management capabilities.

The new site appears to have exceeded its short-term goal of 'recruiting the best and most prominent London agents as users'. 

The Mayfair branch of Carter Jonas and Beauchamp Estates - which is fronted by one of London's best-known prime agents, Gary Hersham - are two of the first agents to sign up to Vyomm.

Reports suggest the portal, which charges agents when properties sell rather than monthly fees, has also signed up Hanover Residential, Napier Watt and Machards.

Tim Macpherson, partner and head of residential sales at Carter Jonas, said: "We like the Vyomm product a lot. Much of what we are instructed upon is predicated upon discretion and therefore off-market."

Gary Hersham adds: "The prime and super prime property market is incredibly competitive and it is important to present our properties as clearly and distinctly as possible."

Former chief executive of Emoov Russell Quirk is also acting as an advisor to the founding team. 

Until May 30, prime agents are being given the chance to feature two properties on the site for free. Vyomm will visit each property to take photographs and then create a 'showcase' to be published on the site.
