An estate agent has been fined after racially abusing a police officer in an incident outside a nightclub.
Sarah Loasby, from Kettering, was attending a staff party on March 23 when she was allegedly refused entry to a club; Northampton magistrates have been told that Loasby racially abused a member of the doorstaff at the club.
A local press report then says: “Loasby, 41, was taken to one side by [two police] officers and they noted that she was drunk and slurring her words.”
She is then reported to have refused to step away from the club staff member she racially abused, and the proceeded to call one of the two officers a racially abusive name.
Loasby has now pleaded guilty to both racially-aggravated public order charges.
Magistrates were told how Loasby comes across as an ‘intelligent, articulate woman,’ who was sorry she’d caused any offence and heard how the offence was a ‘blip’ and not something that is going to be repeated.
She was fined £165 for each of the two offences and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.
