High end agency shuts two branches and relies on online enquiries

A high profile estate agency selling some of the most expensive homes in the west of England has shut two of its three branches.

Local media in Dorset report that Saxe Coburg has closed its offices in Canford Cliffs and Christchurch have shut, leaving just the branch in Boscombe.

The local market in the area is dominated by Sandbanks, a luxurious enclave of waterside homes which were once described as being amongst the most expensive in the world on a pound per square foot basis.

The company is owned by Maximillian De Kment, a former professional rugby player.

The Bournemouth Echo quotes a Saxe Coburg spokesman as saying: "The majority of our enquiries are now coming from the internet, rather than members of the public walking in to any of our offices."

The company maintains a "strong online and social media presence", and many customers now approach Saxe Coburg via its website, he added.
