Property Jobs Today - New Year, New Job Moves…

Hello and welcome to the first PJT of 2020 - a new decade and, for many, a time of new opportunities.

We’re always keen to share the news of people switching posts with the rest of the industry, so please email us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk if you have new movers and shakers in your organisation.

Here we go for the New Year…

We start in Yorkshire where high profile regional firm Dacre, Son & Hartley has made a double appointment at its Guiseley office.

Harry Pollard has been appointed as a sales negotiator and Molly Fieldhouse joins the office’s lettings division as a trainee lettings negotiator.

Harry will now support the office’s existing sales team, as well as accompanying buyers on viewings and assisting with marketing appraisals. Molly, who has spent the last two years working in luxury hotels in French ski resorts, will now embark on Dacre, Son & Hartley’s in-house training programme.

And further north, Darlington-based My Property Box has welcomed five new members of staff to its team who between them have amassed more than 45 years’ experience in the lettings industry.

My Property Box, which was founded by managing director Ben Quaintrell in 2012, completed two merger deals this year involving Holt Estate Agents and Sandersons Lettings.

New head of lettings Marie Wilmot joins from Bridgfords, with Julie Flynn arriving from Browns Property Management and Jemma McCready, Holly Dickinson and Clare Wade all previously having worked at Sandersons Lettings prior to its merger with My Property Box.

As you may have read on EAT recently, the high profile former managing director of the Property Academy - Nicky Stevenson - has joined the management team at Fine & Country.

Nicky is charged with expanding and increasing the brand’s market share and she says: “I’m excited about joining Fine & Country and this next chapter in my career."

"Fine & Country is a prestigious and renowned international brand with an award-winning marketing service. It is a great opportunity to be a part of such a brand and I am honoured to be able to share my knowledge and skillset with them to help them continue to grow.”

Our next stop is Wiltshire where expanding property consultancy Myddelton & Major has appointed an experienced new chartered surveyor, Matthew Holmes

He has previously worked for national and international property consultancies and says: “Myddelton & Major has a long-established reputation for quality advice and client care and I am looking forward to utilising my extensive sector knowledge and experience to add value to the firm’s extensive and valued client base.”

PropTech is a fast-developing sector and provides plenty of jobs news.

This week it’s been revealed that Steve Dawkins has moved from Gazeal to become the new business development director at Coadjute.

Recently earmarked as ‘one to watch’ amongst PropTech start-ups, Coadjute describes itself as a platform for decentralised workflow and data sharing in the property industry - it uses technology styled on blockchain to compress lengthy processes together, and aims to reduce the time taken to transact homes.

And finally this week, a former director at LSL’s Build To Rent division has been named as head of business development at a London PropTech company that aims to replace lettings agencies.

Jo Green - one of a number of redundancies from Ideal Flatmate in the autumn -  was previously director of Build to Rent client services at LSL’s PRSim offshoot.

Jo is regarded as something of a star signing, having over 20 years of business development experience and, more recently, knowledge of the growing Build to Rent sector.

As you can see, 2020 has started with a bang - let’s keep it that way with more news on jobs moves next Monday and every Monday thereafter. So, until then…
