There’s change at the top table at national agency Carter Jonas which has elected James Bainbridge (left) - currently head of the firm’s planning and development division, as Chairman from November 1.
He takes over from Simon Pallett, who has held the position since 2015, and who remains with the business as a partner working with his rural clients from Winchester.
Colin Brown is to succeed James as head of planning and development and will take his place on the firm’s management board.
James joined Carter Jonas in 2003 and is based in London and Oxford. Over the last eight years, he has led the expansion of the planning and development arm of the business, to build a national team that has increased turnover by over 300 per cent.
“On the Management Board, I have taken much pleasure in working with my colleagues to determine the direction of our business and to implement change. I look forward to continuing to support the Partnership in delivering its recently adopted strategic plan and its future development” he says.

Meanwhile in north London an award-winning agency has recruited its first regional partner.
Location Location has brought in Andrew Overman, a former Sunday Times estate agency branch manager of the year winner. He will run Location Location East and cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and North Essex.
LL’s managing director Vicky Bibiris says: “Andrew will be plugging into our systems, processes, technology, marketing and training.
“We want to grow the business nationwide, but we’re in no rush as we only want to recruit the best of the best, and we strongly feel Andrew fits all the criteria for that requirement. We will also be offering our brand partners central marketing, sales progression and client success teams – setting them up for success, from Day One.”
Andrew himself says: “I’m incredibly excited about the future and will add my local knowledge, contacts and work ethic to Location Location’s systems, culture and learning and development. I genuinely believe this creates a ‘dream team’ for people in the areas I’ll be serving who are looking to move with an agent who knows what they’re doing and has their best interests at heart.”
On the supplier front, there’s news from the GOTO Group, which provides agents and home movers with products including online auctions, surveys, conveyancing, mortgages, removals and a new 'committed buyer' product.
There’s a new associate director - Jason Lee - who was previously national sales director at SDL Auctions and has been involved in the property industry for over 20 years.

And software supplier Iceberg Digital has hired Steve Tolfree as a business development manager.
Steve has 30 years experience helping agents with marketing and previously helped Ravensworth become one of the most well known suppliers in the industry.
“I'll be working with Iceberg Digital helping to drive forward their revolutionary digital marketing tool. After the briefest of looks I spotted the vast potential of Lifesycle as an all encompassing marketing resource and I know agents will too” says Steve.
