Agencies back traditional branches with new office deals

Two agencies are looking to the future with optimism, and striking new deals for their own premises.

Vickers & Barrass is reported to have announced plans for new purpose-built offices on the site of Darlington’s new multi-million pound farmers auction mart. 

The move will see the firm continue to offer estate agency services from the new Darlington premises as well as its existing Tow Low office, according to local media reports.

The current team of sales negotiators, chartered surveyors and support staff will operate from both sites.

Adam Barrass, chartered surveyor, and practice manager, says: “We are busier than ever, investing to secure growth and increasingly developing our footprint in the regional property market with a business that’s on the rise, but at the same time not forgetting our rural roots and the farming clientele who make the business the success that it is today.”

He says the new Darlington office will give the company the space it needs to serve its markets across the north of England.

Meanwhile Kent’s largest independently-owned firm of estate agents has renewed its lease in the retail area of Kings Hill. 

Wards of Kent, which has 42 branches across the county, first opened in the location back in 2004.

“Kings Hill has matured since we first moved here but the quality that continues to underpin the residential neighbourhoods is being maintained and values with it” says Tom Ross-Bason, the agency’s operations director. 

And Caroline Binns of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust adds: “Wards has enjoyed a long-established presence and we are pleased to be strengthening our relationship with them.”
