Foodbanks: These need your support more than ever and property industry charity Agents Giving is encouraging the support of local foodbank centers during the spread of coronavirus as people stockpile and donations fall.
The Trussell Trust have acknowledged that foodbanks are already dealing with a record level of need for emergency food and the need for that food is already increasing regardless of the spread of coronavirus.
Agents Giving are asking for help to tackle hunger by preparing a simple food parcel of items to donate to your local foodbank. Please check with your foodbank the items they are in most need of as this will vary at the moment, collect them up and make the donation.
Find your local foodbank and see what items they require.

The Pendsey Trust: Jo Fox, director of INvest Leeds Limited, writes: “I am a trustee of a small UK registered charity called The Pendsey Trust, who fund insulin and education for children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes in India.
“My own son has had this condition since he was six years old, unlike other types of diabetes Type 1 is not diet or lifestyle related and is an auto immune condition where the immune system wrongly attacks the pancreas, meaning it can not make the insulin we all need to stay alive.
“Unfortunately in India, with no NHS, these children cannot afford insulin and inevitably die or have to leave school at a very young age to work to fund their medication.
“Invest Leeds now sponsor a three year old Indian boy called Sahil and we will fund his education or business start up as he gets older, this is in addition to the 15 year old girl I personally sponsor.
“Invest Leeds regularly hold charity events to raise funds, most recently a Christmas shopping event, but we have other activities planned for this year but now unsure if they will go ahead due to Coronavirus (we were doing Yorkshire three peaks and an Indian themed night).”
Keep up this amazing work Jo, and thanks for sharing with us.
Off The Record: David Wilson Homes has given a Bristol-based mental health charity a huge £58,000 boost.
OTR is a charity that strives to help youngsters in the region with vital mental health support, and spokesman Liam McKinnon says: “Our partnership with David Wilson Homes has been hugely beneficial to the charity, which is down to their incredible collective effort to support our work across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
“The amount raised will help to resource our OTR Hubs, which are a safe and relaxed space for young people to simply drop in and chat with no appointments needed. The Hubs are there for young people to meet the OTR team, discover more about what we offer, and learn about mental health and self-care too.”
And Ian Menham, managing director of David Wilson Homes, adds: “As we continue to strengthen our ties to the communities in which we build our new homes, we are extremely proud of our fundraising efforts for David Wilson Homes’ charity of the year - OTR. The charity provides a vital service to many young people across the region and we look forward to seeing the wonderful work that they will achieve over the next year and beyond.”
