The John Bray agency based at Rock in Cornwall typically deals with some of the most expensive real estate in the country - but now it’s generously urging others to follow its example and donate to a charity fighting poverty during the Covid-19 crisis.
As soon as the lockdown was announced three weeks ago the John Bray agency made a donation to the Cornwall Community Foundation’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund and invited others via social media and email to do the same.
The agency’s Jo Ashby says: “It is vital to act local and support each other in times like this and CCF are doing a magnificent job.”
CCF says Cornwall is facing an unprecedented crisis. The county’s already-fragile seasonal economy is hit by social distancing and travel restriction advice and many families are already in ‘in work’ poverty and as work disappears, many more will be forced to turn to their community for help.
The crisis projects across Cornwall – the foodbanks, the homeless shelters, the soup kitchens – are already stretched to capacity but now need to find so much more.
Details of the fund and how to donate are here.
