Although few expect virtual viewings to continue their popularity now that lockdown restrictions have been eased, there’s news this morning that one agency has sold a London apartment for £2.5m solely through an online viewing.
Knight Frank’s new homes team sold the one-bedroom penthouse in Old Queen Street, St James’ Park, for a record price for that part of the capital.
The deal was to a private buyer.
“Given the current situation with regards to Covid-19, we adapted our traditional sales process and supported the purchaser by offering virtual tours, which enabled us to complete on the sale despite lockdown. A great result for both the developer and purchaser” explains Emma Fletcher-Brewer, a partner in the agency’s new homes division.
The property is 1,375 square feet with views of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament
“This was a remarkable sale and a savvy, long-term investment. Given that most penthouse spaces are reserved for a development’s largest units, the purchaser was able to acquire one of the best one-bedroom apartments in London” says Alexander Lewis, another partner at Knight Frank.
