Agents Do Charity - no holiday for industry fund-raisers…

There are high hopes that the new stamp duty holiday will make an already busy market even busier - but not to frantic, we hope, that you cannot continue to fund-raise.

We know the challenges that social distancing and safety measures create for traditional fund-raising, so if we can help let us know: we’d love to publicise your efforts.

Please email press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll promote your great work.

Agents Giving: First off this week, an exciting alternative to organising fund-raising in these difficult times.

Instead you can show your support to the industry charity Agents Giving by signing up to be an Agents Giving Supporter.

This new scheme launched by Agents Giving offers agents and supplies the chance to do their bit for charity, something which we all like to do and is so important, especially during the current times, times which are incredibly hard for all charities.

You can sign up and begin supporting today, for an annual fee of just £99.00 you can become an official Agents Giving Supporter. You can help the many UK charities, national, local and community causes who benefit from Agents Giving support and funding.

As a supporter you will receive a copy of the Agents Giving Supporter logo to use on your website and in your marketing and PR and also a certificate for your office or window display.

You can take pride in being associated with your industry charity Agents Giving and with some amazing fundraising and events.

To register your support and sign up, see the website here.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity: Some 10 per cent of every ticket sale in a new property raffle will go to this great case.

“The truth is that I would not be here today if it wasn't for the lifesaving actions of GOSH. You won't just be donating to the hospital, but also to ground-breaking research for children globally”explains Marc Gershon of the company behind the raffle, Win My Dream Home.

There’s celebrity endorsement, too, in the shape of actress Denise Van Outen who says: “I have supported [GOSH] for over 10 years, and have done lots of fund raising for them. I have seen rst-hand the amazing work that they do with children at the hospital, and also the support that they give to their families.”

The raffle has already raised £11,000 for the charity with funding going towards child and family support, new medical equipment, and rebuilding work.

Tribute to Louie Burns: It came as a huge shock to the industry when the death was announced of Louie, managing director of Leasehold Solutions. He was a genuinely well respected and much loved campaigner, who died at far too early an age.

Now leaseholders have started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the family and also to raise funds to set up a trust in his name to continue his work.

A message to EAT says: “The loss of Louie Burns has been felt deeply by Leaseholders throughout the country.  He was an absolute legend. He never stopped fighting for the rights of leaseholders and we are determined to carry on his good work.”

Here is his GoFundMe page - do please contribute if you can.

Linley & Simpson Community Initiative: This high-profile regional agency has re-launched its initiative to support local businesses and community groups across Yorkshire.

The groups were invited to apply for a Linley & Simpson grant at the beginning of the year, with £30,000 being made available to schools, sports clubs and community clubs across North, West and East Yorkshire.

The re-launched cheme will offer support to local communities across Linley & Simpson’s 19-strong branch network, where each community partnership will have the opportunity to receive an extra £250 for each person that sells or lets their home through Linley & Simpson and is associated with that specific community group.
