An estate agency is to link with a home set-up service and says it will give its referral fees to an environmental charity.
Hamptons is linking with Just Move In, a service that manages utilities, mail redirection and other provisions for new home movers.
All customers using Just Move In will also have the option to transfer onto a 100 per cent renewable energy plan and will get a carbon-absorbing Mangrove tree planted in their name.
A statement from the agency says: “Hamptons has chosen not to take any of the referral fees they receive from the partnership with Just Move In and instead all funds will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society, the UK’s leading charity for the protection of the planet's seas and shores. The business hopes to donate a total of £20,000 in 2021/22 to this worthy cause.”
Lesley Cairns, Hamptons managing director, adds: "In recent years Hamptons has taken bold steps to protect the environment and the planet we call home. Partnering with Just Move In is the latest in a long line of environmentally pointed initiatives attempting to make moving more eco-friendly.“
She continues: "Customers who use their service can reduce their carbon emissions and save themselves time and money, while a Mangrove Tree is also planted in their name. At Hamptons we’re equally as passionate about the environment and that’s why we’ve chosen to give each customer referral free we earn from Just Move In, to the Marine Conservation Society, to help with the good work they do protecting our marine life, and our oceans.”
