Estate agents are being invited to a webinar to end their apparent “misconceptions” about the controversial Modern Method of Auction.
MMA has been criticised by some consumer groups for what some see as a lack of transparency over fees.
Now one of the leading firms in the niche sector - Iamsold - is staging a webinar next week, on Thursday May 13 at 11am.
Both Zoopla and Rightmove have recently entered the digital auction field with Iamsold, and the webinar will be led by Iamsold’s head of partnerships Tom Bailey - the company’s managing director, Jamie Cooke, and head of compliance Emma Burdis will also take part.
The session will cover the original of MMA and what the firm sees as the myths and misconceptions around the method; putting the spotlight on compliance, transparency and best practice; and how Rightmove and Zoopla involvement can enhance future prospects for the system.
Cooke says: “It will be a great opportunity for agents to learn more about the benefits MMA can give them and their clients, and ultimately clear up any misconceptions.
“One misconception we hear is a lack of transparency around fees which MMA has faced criticism for. This is an area we’ve driven significant change around to ensure full transparency and that consumers have a consistent MMA experience.
“By addressing things like this we hope people will leave the session with a better understanding of MMA and its place in the market.”
