An app that promotes both on- and off-market homes to prospective buyers has linked up with a moving service PropTech platform.
Houso is the brainchild of Ben Johnston, a residential developer for the past 13 years.
The app, which was launched in November 2019, claims 47,000 downloads and has over 11,000 homes listed.
Despite specialising in off-market homes, Johnston has been keen to stress it’s not anti-agent, and instead has suggested that it allows agents to gauge possible interest in a property before it is formally put on the market.
Johnston has also been critical of online agents, which he has suggested are often the root cause of delays in transactions.
“The technology has a very positive response from first-time buyers, who are clearly keen to adopt a more application-based product” says a statement about Houso’s new link with the house move checklist platform Moveable.
“Houso accelerates the process. Contact from a buyer goes straight to the agent without any desensitisation” says Johnston.
Moveable alerts users by prompting about tasks, deadlines and processes during house moves.
