Two companies are to merge to create one of the Home Counties’ largest land and new homes businesses.
Ashtons and Putterills Land & Development Ltd. are to merge - they will be the biggest force in the sector in Hertfordshire; Ashtons’ core area for land and new homes has been the centre and south of the county, with Putterills in the north.
Combined, the new group predicts £130m of new homes sales over the next 12 months.
Karl Judd, managing director of Ashtons, says:“We are delighted to welcome some really exceptional people within Putterills Land and Development, to work alongside our existing team as we continue to grow. As a brand, Putterills Land and Development is trusted by many loyal developers and house builders, and very closely mirrors the ethos of our own business. For us, it’s the perfect fit.”
Putterills residential sales offices retain separate ownership and branding, and will continue to focus their core activity in the second-hand residential sales and lettings market.
Mark Shearing, managing director of Putterills, is retiring early due to ill health, but says he is delighted his land and new homes business is being entrusted to Ashtons, having known its directors for decades.

I am not sure £103 mill of new homes sales could be described as a "Land and new homes giant" based on our own experience.
