Estate agency software provider and platform Reapit has recruited its first graduate as a result of a recent partnership with the School of Code.
The School of Code offers a free 16-week course focusing on the fundamentals of programming, learning how to work in a high-performance tech team, and training in industry best practices and standards.
The bootcamp aims to help graduates get a foothold in the technology industry.
Training is free to students and funding is provided by the Department of Education and employer partners such as Reapit.
Tan Matthews has now joined Reapit as a junior business analyst.
Sarah Dearden, UK chief product officer for Reapit, said: “Reapit is proud to be one of the partners of the School of Code.
“As a leading player in the property technology industry, we have an obligation to employ and nurture people who are starting out in their career in technology. We need to constantly replenish the skills of the workforce for our benefit and for the sake of the wider industry.”
“On a personal note, I am very proud to have launched this initiative at Reapit and sincerely look forward to further opportunities to meet and potentially hire many inspiring applicants such as Tan. It is wonderful to see more diversity in the tech industry.”
Dr Chris Meah, chief executive of the School of Code, said: “We’ve had great success in placing our bootcampers into a wide range of tech companies.
“With Reapit hiring one of our graduates, Tan, there is another great example of how we can build partnerships with businesses to help grow their teams with top tech talent, and help change people's lives so they can have great tech careers.”
“We're always searching for employers who provide great places to work and environments for people to grow.
“That's exactly why we're excited about the partnership with Reapit. So far, we have seen more than 500 individuals on our bootcamp, and working with companies like Reapit gives us the ability to continue to support more people into tech for free.”
Matthews said joining the School of Code was one of the best life decisions that he has made, adding: “The amount of information, skill, and relationships that I have developed is amazing.
“I have always had an interest in tech but without the School of Code I would still be frustrated. With increasing confidence, I can embrace a career in the tech industry, and I am happy to be continuing my learning at Reapit.”
