A new company claiming to save money on buyers’ legal and estate agent fees has been forced to rebrand.
Easyfees - launched last month in the Republic of Ireland - is now Ezfees.
Irish media report that the name change follows a legal threat from the parent company of airline giant.
Established as Easyfees.ie by businessman Jason Clancy, the company provides those who register on the site with what it calls”the lowest Solicitor legal fees and Estate Agency fees.”
It operates around Cork and aims to roll out across the Republic.
In the UK the easyProperty online agency operates under licence from the easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
David Brierley, easyProperty chief executive, recently secured an additional £800,000 funding - on top of a reported £25m funding from hedge fund Toscafund since 2015.
Brierley wants to introduce 100 new territories to the company which is thought to have around 35 currently.
A year ago Brierley spoke of the importance of the easy brand, saying: “There’s no question the brand opens doors. People know the logo and they seem to like what it stands for.”

Seems a little unnecessary. Barely anyone knows who easyproperty are, so doubt there would have been much confusion!
