LonRes has teamed up with compliance consultancy iCompli to launch a range of services which they say will keep estate agents GDPR compliant.
The partnership launch comes at a time when both cyber incidents and fines for breaches of personal data are on the rise according to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the UK’s supervisory authority for GDPR.
LonRes managing director Anthony Payne says: “The sensitivities around the handling of personal data, including identification and finance documents, has never been greater.
“Anti-money laundering regulations have added additional layers to what has become an increasingly complex area of legislation. Partnering with iCompi … means that LonRes subscribers have access to low-cost training and services that keep their business safe from data protection breaches and consequential fines.”
And Duncan Smith, founder of iCompli, addd: “The risk of receiving a fine for breach of personal data is on the rise in the property sector as the number of recorded cyber and non-cyber incidents increases, so agents cannot afford to be complacent. We are delighted to be partnering with LonRes in delivering practical industry-specific data protection services to property professionals.”
