Agents are being offered an easier way to offer 3D virtual viewings that could get homes listed more quickly.
Spatial data technology company Matterport has released a new motorised mount for smartphones.
It means agents can more easily make digital replicas of properties for listings using their phone, rather than more pricey and heavy camera equipment.
Users just connect their phone to the mount, as well as the Matterport Capture app, and it will spin to build a 3D digital replica image of a room.
London-based agency Atkinson McLeod has also been trialling the gadget and described it as comparable to high-end cameras with the ability to get properties on the market faster.
The mount is usually £69 but was showing at a pre-launch price of £54 on the Matterport website yesterday.
Japjit Tulsi, chief technology officer of Matterport, says: “We are excited to introduce Matterport Axis, which when combined with our Capture app, allows anyone to create a 3D digital twin with the phone in their pocket.
“Whether it’s creating a digital twin to help sell your home, capturing your work environment to collaborate with team members, or capturing and sharing your business to attract new customers, there are countless uses for people and businesses to use Matterport.
“Our Capture app along with Matterport Axis now makes that process easier and faster for anyone to digitise their spaces with greater precision.”
It has already been used in the US by Avail, part of the Realtor.com landlord network, where users claim it has boosted viewings and reduced void periods.
