Anti-money laundering (AML) platform Credas is hosting a free lunch and learn session for estate agents in south Wales and south-west England.
Held at The Deck in Penarth, Cardiff, the event will include an update from Credas’ compliance manager Louis Lancaster and chief executive Timothy Barnett, on what is expected of estate agents by HMRC and how to avoid facing financial penalties.
Credas will also be showcasing its technology and discussing how the proposed Data Reform Bill will help estate agents create more efficient AML processes.
Barnett said: “With the recent news that some estate agents are still falling short of meeting their AML obligations we wanted to help by offering this free event. We have regular direct engagement with HMRC and are aware of what they expect from estate agents.
“It is also an exciting time for AML technology with the soon to be launched government digital identities and trust framework introducing new standards and new opportunities to streamline a firm’s compliance processes.
“We know that AML may not be the most exciting topic for estate agents, which is why we’ve booked the event at a stunning venue overlooking Penarth marina.”
The event will take place on Thursday 9th June from 1230 pm with food and drink provided.
