Foxtons has committed to making its offices LGBTQ+ safe spaces for staff and the community.
The agent has been promoting its 57 offices across London as safe spaces during Pride month throughout June but this will apply all year round.
Mark Irwin, chief marketing officer for Foxtons, said: “Anyone who’s part of the LGBTQ+ community can be confident that they can be their whole self when working with Foxtons.
“It also means our offices provide a service to any community member who needs to seek shelter from intimidation or abuse, a valuable addition to the existing spaces.”
Irwin also revealed that the agent has worked with transgender support organisation the Beaumont Society to redesign its onboarding policies for trans customers.
Irwin added: “There are guidelines on the documentation and information to obtain from our transgender customers so they feel they can be their authentic self when buying, selling or renting with Foxtons.
“The amended policies and procedures improved the customer journey whilst ensuring we can perform thorough anti-money laundering checks with all of our customers.”

I started in the business in 1981
I have worked with gay people in small and corporate firms
Even back then no one cared
It is being made a big deal when it is not
