Connells agents are to start using an app that will boost the safety of lone staff at viewings.
The agent has partnered with Viewber to use the proptech firm’s free ViewBuddy app.
The tool helps estate and lettings agents feel safer on appointments when lone working by alerting colleagues, known as buddies, if help and assistance is required.
Available in the App and Google Play Stores, the app allows users to nominate colleagues or friends who will be alerted automatically if a viewing or time limit is overrun.
It also allows an instant alert by putting your PIN in backwards and uses What3Words positioning.
Ed Mead, founder of Viewber, said: "We are pleased Connells Group has recognised the benefits ViewBuddy can bring in addition to its existing arrangements.
“Anything that helps keep staff safe is to the credit of employers and Connells Group remains an industry leader."
Jason Hill, head of fire, health and safety at Connells Group, added: "The personal safety of our colleagues is of paramount importance to us and we’re encouraging them all to download ViewBuddy.
“The app provides another tool in our armoury to help keep our colleagues safe when on appointments, and perfectly supplements our existing lone worker and safe appointment procedures.”
