Kent-based agent Miles & Barr has opened its 13th office in the region and is celebrating by offering to sell local homes for free.
The brand opened a new Ashford office over the weekend with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the town’s mayor and for a limited time only won’t charge any commission for sales as long as local vendors display the company’s boards on their property.
The Ashford office offers the full range of Miles & Barr specialist services from sales to lettings, exclusive homes, land and new Homes, property management, commercial sales and lettings, estate and block management, plus financial services.
The opening of Ashford brings the total number of offices to 14, with 13 sales and lettings branches, and a head office located in Herne Bay, Miles & Barr employs more than 260 members of staff from across the county.
Mark Brooks, chief executive of Miles & Barr, said: “We pride ourselves on being involved in our local communities and so to have the support from the Mayor of Ashford, Councillor Jenny Webb, to mark our opening was truly special.
“The move to Ashford marks the start of Miles & Barr’s expansion plans to new towns outside of our existing geographical area.
“The launch of Miles & Barr Ashford is also our third opening this year, following the relocation of our Herne Bay High Street office in May and the opening of our new head office at The Links, Herne Bay Business Park, in January."
Joe Bull, senior branch manager of Miles & Barr Ashford, added: “Ashford is an exciting property market, and we are looking forward to assisting its residents with sales, lettings, commercial and financial services needs.
“To celebrate our launch, we have introduced the company’s first-ever 0% sales and lettings listing promotion which means it is currently free to sell or let your property. Available for a limited time and to Ashford residents only, all we ask is that one of our newly redesigned boards is placed outside of your property.”

Miles and Barr is a great company and this technique of offering 0% on opening a new office is an old one. Something i never did and never felt the need to do. Instead of selling a couple of homes for free, spend it on marketing instead.
