Property brokerage and estate agency Nest Seekers International is set to reveal the highs and lows of luxury property sales in a new BBC TV series airing this evening.
A new BBC TV series, Hire Me: Competing For A Dream Job is starting tonight and features the agent in the first episode.
Hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Snoochie Shy, each episode pits three young candidates against each other in a high-pressure interview for the job of their dreams.
Running over six episodes, the series features hopeful jobhunters competing for roles as a radio producer, commercial interior designer, events planner, commercial film maker and Premier League football coach.
Starting the season, Daniel McPeake, managing director of Nest Seekers in Europe, will test the mettle of ex-perfume seller Alisha, support worker Leon and food entrepreneur Ellie, all of whom want the opportunity to make their fortune in the fast-paced, commission-only model of luxury property sales.
The company has already been the subject of a number of previous TV shows about its glamorous US operations, including Selling the Hamptons, Million Dollar Listing and Million Dollar Beach House.
For the opening episode of Hire Me, the candidates have two tasks to complete.
The first is to meet a celebrity client and attempt to win their business – which won’t be an easy task as the celebrity in question is the formidable barrister and TV presenter Rob Rinder.
Used to grilling witnesses in his reality courtroom series Judge Rinder, he is obviously going to be asking some difficult questions of the would-be agents.
In the second challenge they are asked to lead a viewing for a £10m Cheshire mansion and discover that selling a multi-million-pound dream home isn’t as easy as it looks.
McPeake said: “The three candidates will get a real taste of the grit behind the glamour – the hard work and long hours, the creativity, skill and entrepreneurial spirit that Nest Seekers’ agents need in order to succeed.
“Those who are used to the way the average British estate agent does business will find themselves in for a shock.
“The winner will have a chance to do the job for real, with a three-month placement here with us at Nest Seekers.”
The first episode of Hire Me: Competing For A Dream Job featuring Nest Seekers will be shown on BBC Three from Wednesday 21 September, with the whole series also available on BBC iPlayer from that date
