Industry executives have blamed low fees, budgets and a lack of training for a lack of leadership in the estate agency sector.
The claims were made in the latest video from an industry roundtable last year.
Sarah Edmundson, chief executive of Agents Together, said: “We have some great people in this industry who need ideas and thoughts beyond their bubble.
“There is a failure in leadership across the industry in management. There are some brilliant agents who have become managers and leaders who haven’t been trained.”
She suggested this was due to a lack of budget dedicated to supporting training but fellow panellist Peter Rollings, a Foxtons board member, suggested low agency fees make it harder to build a business properly.
