Property social network and listings website PropertyHeads has staked a claim as the number four property portal in the UK.
While much of the sector focuses on CoStar’s proposed takeover of OnTheMarket, PropertyHeads said it has grown by acquiring the assets from collapsed challenger portals including ResidentialPeople and Boomin.
It has acquired the domain of ResidentialPeople as well as feeds from hundreds of estate agents that registered with both failed platforms.
Ben Davis, chief executive PropertyHeads, said it now lists properties from 8,000 agents across the UK.
In comparison, approximately 10,000 agents are listed with OnTheMarket and 16,000 with Rightmove.
Davis said: “We are always opportunistically acquiring businesses and assets that will help us become the UK’s best property portal.
“It’s taken us four years to become both profitable and grow into the UK’s No 4 property portal without substantial outside investment. And now 2024 is set to be a transformational year for PropertyHeads and we will be making more exciting announcements in the first half of next year.”
