Industry Partner’s Charitable Donations Surpass £35,000

An estate agency industry partner is celebrating directly donating over £35,000 to charities and community groups across the UK.

Estate Agent Content Club (EACC), which provides content and marketing services to non-competing independent agencies, recently reached the landmark four years after it launched.

The donations are made via The Karma Club, the community support arm of the EACC.

And EACC founder Jerry Lyons says: “The Karma Club match funds our members’ donations and fundraising efforts. Every month, we take £5 from each member’s monthly subscription and put it into a big Karma Kitty. 

“This is then shared with members who are doing good things locally. So, the total we’ve achieved when adding to our members’ donations is over £60,000. We’re only a small company, but by working with our members, we make a big difference to people needing support.”

In addition to The Karma Club’s donations, it created a Guide to Coping with the Cost-of-Living Crisis that raised iver £10,000 for food banks across the UK.

Jerry adds: “We’re launching the Ethical Agent Network in the next couple of months, which will bring together agencies committed to doing the right thing and supporting the communities they serve and make a living from. We aim to donate £1,000 each month to the good causes and charities our members work with.”

Aylesbury’s Cancer Care and Haematology Fund secures £1,500 

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the NHS Aylesbury’s CCHF, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, has welcomed a £1,500 donation this month from Barratt David Wilson Homes.

The donation will go towards the charity’s role in supporting patient care across Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s cancer and haematology treatment centres.

Over the years CCHF has funded a range of specialist medical equipment, more comfortable treatment facilities or patients, financial support for training and development of specialist nurses, improvements to relaxation areas and a free wig service for patients.  

The donation was made as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative, which sees the housebuilder to donate £1,500 each month to a local charity to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.

One Million Steps!

Industry training guru Michael Day has committed to walking one million steps during July, August and September in support of Diabetes UK

Michael - who was diagnosed with type one diabetes 35 years ago and had a triple heart bypass in 2021 - says he is motivated by the challenge and has been moved by the volume of support and encouragement from family, friend and industry contacts.

One million steps is the equivalent of around 500 miles and Michael says: "I needed to get a little fitter and the Diabetes UK one million step challenge has come along at just the right time and provides me with the daily motivation to get off my backside and push myself to achieve the numbers whilst also raising awareness and much needed funds."

Nearly five million people in the UK have type one or type two diabetes - that's around one in every 15 and, unless well controlled, it can lead to many other complications.
