Agents Do Charity - fundraising in the rain

Agents Giving: Are you are fundraising for a charity, or community cause this Summer? 

Agents Giving can help by providing a grant towards your fundraising costs. 

The Agents Giving Grant Fund supported by The Guild of Property Professionals will help towards the costs of your fundraising challenge or event, meaning more of the money you raise goes direct to your chosen charity. 

So, if you are an estate agent, letting agent or supplier to the industry and organising an event which incurs a cost then Agents Giving can help with a grant and you will also receive help and assistance promoting your event.

Manning Stainton: Leeds-based estate agent Manning Stainton has donated more than £22,500 to local charities, schools, sports clubs and community projects in the first six months of 2023.

From January to June, the estate agent supported 63 good causes, demonstrating its commitment to the local communities it operates in.

Initiatives, organisations, teams and events it has helped range from the Meanwood Park Playground Appeal, SNAPS Yorkshire and Whinmoor Warriors Rugby Club, to Brighouse Learning Partnership, Fieldhead Carr Primary School and the Horsforth Walk of Art.

One of the most recent donations Manning Stainton made was to Penny Field School in Meanwood, which meets the needs of learners with severe and complex needs. The estate agent donated 25 special parasols to help shade children in wheelchairs from the sun over the summer months.

Mark Manning, managing director of Manning Stainton, said: “Community sits at the heart of what we do, and we’re committed to supporting local schools, teams, organisations and events.

“It’s fantastic to be able to give back to the communities we operate in, and we’re looking forward to supporting many more good causes throughout the rest of 2023 and beyond.”

Hunters: The Nikki Waterhouse Trust and Hunters entered the summer Dragon Boat Challenge on the river Ouse in York, raising around £2,500.

The Nikki Waterhouse Trust was set up in February 2015 in memory of the 32-year-old estate agent who worked for Hunters and was tragically taken away from her family and friends in October 2013. Nikki loved children, so it felt right to create a trust in her name to help make a difference to their lives.

“The Trust has donated to children and organizations across the country,” said Oliver Hanlon from Hunters York, “so I was very pleased I could be part of this and help raise funds for such a great cause.”

Barratt London: Rehoboth Community Outreach Club, a charity based in Sydenham which provides more than 750 meals every week to homeless hostels and vulnerable, has recently received a donation of £1,500 from Barratt London. 

The developer has recently launched its nearby Bermondsey Heights development and has provided the charity with funds as part of the housebuilder’s community fund scheme, which aims to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area. 

Paula Walker-Litchmore, founder of Rehoboth Community Outreach Club, said: “We have seen our team grow which is great, however it is reflective of how much work is needed. 

“Our volunteer’s commitment and contribution has been integral to the success of the outreach program and have helped to positively impact the lives of those in need within our community. Barratt London’s generous support will enable us to continue our mission and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve, and for that, we are very grateful.”

Steve Thompson, managing director for Barratt East London, added: “Our community fund scheme is all about supporting organisations like Rehoboth Community Outreach Club, which addresses local needs, support local initiatives, and fosters a sense of community spirit.

“As we continue to navigate through the cost of living crisis, while many vulnerable people are struggling to put food on the table, it’s great to see the vital work the team does in providing nutritious meals to the community. We hope the donation helps continue this much needed support.”
 

The Letting Partnership: Lewis Thomas of The Letting Partnership along with The Letting Partnership’s Charity and Community team will be abseiling down Peacehaven Cliffs in Lewes, East Sussex for charities Safe in Sussex and West Sussex Mind.  The event will take place on 7 October.

Safe in Sussex is a local charity which provides a range of services such as refuge, support and donations for people experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse.
West Sussex Mind, who is co-hosting the abseil, is another local charity that provides support, specialist training and awareness campaigns for mental health. 

The challenge, monitored and supported by Hatt Adventures Shoreham, will consist of a safety briefing followed by a harnessed abseil down 90 feet of sheer cliff overlooking the English channel. Don’t look down!
