Savills has strengthened its residential sales team in Hertfordshire with the appointment of a new director to lead its Rickmansworth office.
Steven Spencer has more than 25 years’ experience working in the property sector, having most recently led the Gerrards Cross office for Strutt and Parker in Buckinghamshire.
Previously he worked for award winning independent estate agency Roberts Newby, where he was an equity partner and subsequently sold the company to Strutt & Parker in 2015. He takes over as head of Savills Rickmansworth from Peter Everett who will continue in a consultancy role.
Spencer said: “I know the area very well, having gone to school at Merchant Taylors’ School and then living in Rickmansworth and Chorleywood from the early 2000s until around 2010, so the move feels very much like a natural transition.
“Savills has a strong network of offices in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and I’m excited to be a part of what is already a very experienced team with a successful track record. The Rickmansworth office has had a good start to the year and I’m looking forward to building on that and using my own experiences to help drive future growth.”
Paul Jarman, head of region for Savills residential offices in the Home Counties, added: “Steven brings a great deal of experience and expertise to the role and we’re delighted to have him on board. His appointment signals our continued commitment to strengthening our teams and ensuring our offices provide the very best service to our clients. I look forward to seeing how he continues to grow the office and wish him a long and enjoyable tenure.”
Meanwhile, Toby Anderdon has rejoined Savills Sloane Street sales department as a director, coming from Knight Frank where he was a partner in the firm’s Chelsea office.
Anderdon, who spent five years at Savills before leaving in 2019, has more than a decade’s experience working in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Cited by Spear’s 500 as a ‘rising star’ in the early stages of his career with Savills, Toby has gone on to handle some of Chelsea’s most significant sales including several high value transactions in The Boltons conservation area and other parts of SW3.
Co-head of prime central London residential, Richard Gutteridge, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Toby back to Savills. Passionate about client care, he brings with him a wealth of local experience along with a great track record and he will be a fantastic addition to our market leading team.
"Our prime central London agency business is going from strength to strength as we continue to increase market share across Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Belgravia. Toby is perfectly placed to help us drive forward our sales operation in these key locations.”
