Agents Do Charity - back in the swing of things

A variety of charities have received support from the property industry this week.

Agents Giving: Industry charity Agents Giving and its supporters returned to the countryside golf course of Donnington Valley, Newbury on 10 April hosted by chairman David Newnes and board director Gareth Samples.

Teams enjoyed a great afternoon of golf followed by a three-course dinner, raffle and charity auction hosted by Tim Simpkins of iamproperty. The golf day was a sell out with 18 teams attending and raising £10,500.

Team winners on the day were, in first place Valpal, second place Ferndown Estates and in third Place Drivers & Norris. Nearest the Pin winner John Young of Drivers & Norris, Longest Drive won by Conor Clarke of Rayner Personnel, the prestigious award of Best Dressed was awarded to the Reeds Rains team and the best individual score came from Anthony Jones of Valpal.

Additionally, entries and nominations are now open for the Industry Fundraising Champions Awards 2024

You can enter someone else or nominate yourself for the awards to highlight good deeds for charitable causes or a fundraising challenge.

The winners will be revealed at the Agents Giving Charity Ball with headline sponsor Reapit on Friday 12 July.

Agents Giving will also be awarding the Outstanding Contribution Award for Charity - this category sponsored by Propertymark allows anyone to nominate their very own charity person of the year.

Aconveyancing: Conveyancing firm Aconveyancing has launched the Crystal Maze Challenge in partnership with Conveyancing Foundation.

Taking place on Wednesday 26 June 2024 at the picturesque Mythe Barn in Atherstone, the Crystal Maze Challenge promises an exhilarating afternoon of camaraderie and excitement, with participants from across the property sector.

All funds raised will go directly to Action on Addiction, a charity project run by The Forward Trust, who work tirelessly for addiction to be treated as a serious mental health condition and for increased access to support, so that recovery can be possible for everyone.

Participants will embark on the thrilling Crystal Maze Challenge alongside colleagues, followed by a networking session, delectable food, and evening of more fun and entertainment.
Natalie Moore, founder of Aconveyancing and Conveyancing Foundation, said: “The Crystal Maze Challenge epitomises the power of collaboration within our industry. 

“It's more than just a game; it's a platform for bringing people together in the spirit of camaraderie, charity fundraising, and collaborative success. Individuals and teams are encouraged to participate in this charitable endeavour. Legal Practices and business in the property sector can assemble full teams, while individual conveyancers are also welcome to join free of charge. The team entry fee, with a suggested donation is £500.

Propertymark: The Propertymark Trust has launched Prop X, its first-ever fundraising event, scheduled for The Millennium Point in Birmingham. 

Prop X will offer a unique and exciting opportunity for a whole day dedicated to knowledge-sharing and networking among property industry professionals, designed to echo the innovative TEDTalk format.

There will be presentations from 15 industry figures such as Heather Staff, Chris Webb and Simon Leadbetter.

Lauren Scott-Simpson, chairperson at The Propertymark Trust, said: "Prop X represents a pivotal moment for our Trust as we continue to provide essential support services to our members. We are committed to creating opportunities that foster collaboration and innovation within the industry."

Manning Stainton: Estate agent Manning Stainton has backed a talented team of young volleyballers from Leeds, by providing smart new kits for them to wear at the World Volleyball Club Championships.

14 members of The Gorse Volleyball Club travelled to Italy last month to take part in the coveted Cornacchia World Cup, competing in the U17 category where the boys placed 12th. Manning Stainton donated £450 towards the new kits, ensuring the team competed in style.

Elaine Brown, director of volleyball at The Gorse Volleyball Club, said: “Our team held their own against international players and came up with some big wins. They have returned with a sense of confidence and high team morality.

“It was fantastic to have a new orange, pink and black kit to debut at the Volleyball World Cup which gave our young players a real sense of confidence and belonging on the international stage.” 

The team has also just competed in the Volleyball England National Finals at the National Volleyball Centre where they won in the Under 16s.

Mark Manning, managing director of Manning Stainton, said: “We’re proud to support these rising stars of volleyball’s future by helping out with their new kit requirements. The team has done brilliantly in its most recent competitions, and we wish them even more success over the coming year.”
