A variety of charities have received support from the property industry this week.
If there are charitable endeavours you think the rest of the industry should know about, please email us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk, or get in touch via our social platforms, and we’ll do the rest.
Hamptons: Agents from Hamptons dusted off their football boots to take part in Kick-off for Kindness – a charity football match hosted by deverellsmith and Hintel at Fulham Football Club in support of mental health charity Joe’s Buddy Line.
Head of private office Grant Bates took to the pitch alongside British radio host and trustee of Joe’s Buddy Line Roman Kemp in support of this worthy cause. The day consisted of a two-hour football match with Team Hintel taking the win against Team deverellsmith. The final score was 7-4.
The event has raised £6,043 for the charity so far.
Bates said: “It was a privilege to come together with other members of the property sector and be part of such a fantastic event to support and raise money for a brilliant charity.
“At Hamptons, we understand the importance of mental health and we are committed to doing what we can to support any charity work around helping those suffering with poor mental health. This is something that sits very close to our hearts, and we will continue to what we can to support this meaningful cause.”
Total Property: Total Property’s new platform for its mydeposits custodial scheme members will give tenants the choice to be able to donate any accrued interest to the chosen property charity, Centrepoint.
PropertyPal: Northern Ireland portal PropertyPal has partnered with Simon Community, a charitable organisation dedicated to tackling homelessness and supporting individuals and families in need across the region.
The collaboration encourages staff volunteering, organised fundraising and ongoing support to raise awareness about the true scale of homelessness in Northern Ireland.
Through joint initiatives, the organisations aim to shed light on the often-overlooked issue of ‘hidden homelessness’ and encourage awareness and support that ultimately drives positive action.
Jordan Buchanan, chief executive of PropertyPal, said: “We are delighted to have Simon Community as our official charity partner and aim to support the invaluable work they do.
“Social and economic factors, alongside rising costs, are exacerbating hidden homelessness, particularly in the private rental market, which poses significant challenges for those on lower incomes. Through the extensive reach we have of over 12 million visitors annually, we are determined to highlight this issue and support the Simon Community in advocating for positive change.”
Simon Community's new strategy, ‘Doing Things Differently’, focuses on delivering preventative measures and early interventions for those at risk of homelessness, along with practical housing solutions to break the cycle swiftly.
Its chief executive Jim Dennison said: “We are very excited to work with PropertyPal in the months ahead.
“We know that a safe and secure home is life changing and our partnership will allow us to support more people who are experiencing homelessness across Northern Ireland.”
