Connells boss David Plumtree is set to leave the agency brand.
After more than 35 years of service, Plumtree has decided to step down from his role as Connells Group chief executive (estate agency) and will leave the business at the end of June.
Ian Fry has been appointed as group chief executive (estate agency), with immediate effect.
Plumtree started his career with the group in 1988 as a negotiator in William H Brown’s Fakenham branch.
As his career progressed, he achieved success in a number of senior roles and has led the Group’s Estate Agency business since 2005.
Plumtree said: “After celebrating 35 years it feels like the right time for me to step back.
“I have been fortunate to have worked with some amazing people in Connells, and I leave the business knowing that the appetite to continue to drive the business forward is as strong as it has ever been, and I am excited to see how the group continues to evolve.”
Richard Twigg, Connells group interim chief executive, said: “On behalf of the Connells group board, I would like to thank David for his immense contribution to the Group. David has been instrumental in growing the business to become the UK’s leading Estate Agency, and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”

From my brief meetings with him, this super man is a loss to Connells.
