Insult of the week – and it’s only Monday!

Andrew ‘Thrasher’ Mitchell, the chief whip in trouble for being rude to police officers, was in banking before he entered politics.

A constituent recently emailed him to say: “Dear Mr Mitchell, I note you are both a politician and a banker. Do you have any plans to retrain as an estate agent?”

The Sunday Times, commenting on the story, adds: “Alas, it is highly likely that Mitchell regards estate agents as plebs too.”

    Good morning!

Are you sure? My point was the yellow coated jobsworths attitudes and the way they treat members of the public, not all of them of course..

I do not know the detail of the words used during the 'conversation' and do not attempt to approve or define 'rudeness' towards the police or anyone else, although it is often exagerated. However, it can be started by either party and if it went the same way as a lot of the yellow coated jobsworths attitudes and the way they treat members of the public (their employers), more of us should politely remind them of their position.

I am not sure that is an insult. Bankers own the country, Politicians run the country so suggesting Mr Mitchell is now ready to move up the social hierarchy is an unintended compliment.
