Property Network is launching market intelligence reports on home movers – people it defines as interested in moving through property searches on its app or from their social media activity.
The reports include information on age, relationship status, family size, and likes and interests, together with property requirements.
They will be made available to estate agents only at first, although the business says it has had interest from other possible users, including developers and a restaurant chain.
Agents are being offered the reports on a free 30-day trial. After that, costs come in from £75 per quarter.
Sohail Rashid, CEO of Property Network, said: “Our market intelligence reports are useful to any business wanting to know more about their local, ever-changing community.
“This new product gives agents the ability to target more efficiently and effectively, and get more from all their marketing efforts.”
The consumer data is location specific and allows agents to see the profile of instructors likely to be coming on to the market.
Rashid said: “It’s our mission to revolutionise the property market and help agents benefit from the advances in social and data driven technology.
“We want to make it easy for property advertisers to reap the benefits that data rich social networks offer.”

So, how exactly, does the information on the Cambridge page that one of the favourite pubs for the population of Cambridge is in Norwich, and their favourite computer shop is the apple store in Brighton help me to sell a property in Cambridge???

If what you're concentrating on is where people eat then you are missing the point, and this could be my fault for not being clear. David, do you read the rubbish you write. Close to Marylebone is Westfield's in White City, 10 mins by car and 3 stops by train. Do you honestly think for 1 minuet people would prefer to travel across central London to Stratford City. Don't be a plonker all you life. You should go into politics as your sound like you seriously believe the rubbish you spout.

Certainly. The number of users (and data set) we have in total is 2.7 million, and increasing by 100,000 a month. We can show that definitively. The figure of 9,000 is how many unique people use our app through Facebook, not counting the number of people who use the stand alone website (while logged in to Facebook).
The £75 isn't just paying for where the people eat, or like to eat. It's paying for the full profile about the type of people looking for properties in the area. This means a number of things e.g. you can cross reference the profile with the type of customers you see on a day to day basis to gauge your brand stature in the area, you can see if your marketing is aimed at the right people, or whether it is the right type of marketing at all. As for where they eat: the way to a person's heart is through their stomach.
Knowledge is power I say.

Why do you quote users of 2.7 million when the property network app shows users of just over 9,000?

Could you give me an example of how knowing that lots of people now eat in Westfield Shopping Centre is useful to me as an agent and worth £75 a 1/4.
While your at it, could you tell me why when your rep called me to sign me up were my listings removed from the app and then restored after I declined your offer?

That data is taken from thousands of customers that live in your area. It suggests the two favourite places to visit for food area Borough Market and Westfield (Stratford). No doubt, as our user base expands from 2.7 million, and we develop these reports more we will be more specific, yet certain conclusions can be drawn from that and if you email me I'm sure we could talk them through.

You'll be happy to hear that no personal information has been sold. If you'll refer to our FAQs you'll see that all information we keep is anonymous therefore untraceable to any person, which by definition is as impersonal as it could be. The reason we use anonymous social data is to build demographics for an area which can then be used by consumers to research an area, or by agents to research their customers. I'm not quite sure how either could be a bad thing as both lead to more educated decisions and thus save everyone time.

Do the users understand that their personal information is being sold like this? I'm sure they can't have agreed that their relationship status or personal interests are up for sale.
Where does the Data Protection Act sit with this?

I have had the displeasure of seeing one of these reports. Sohil give it up and put your money elsewhere, not even the link on this site works properly. According to the report in Marylebone that I received the no 1 restaurant near hear is.....Westfield Stratford City.......followed by Borough Market. You only need to look at a map to see that is not correct, how they could ever allow a report like that with there name on it.
Joke company, joke web site and I have now stopped laughing, just feel sad for anyone conned by this rubbish.
