The Auction House network of local estate agents and auctioneers has been joined by Berkshire-based auctioneer Romans, increasing the company’s total number of auction rooms nationwide to 27.
Romans carried out their first auction in 2002 and claim to be the most successful auctioneer in their area, with a total of 18 branches across Berkshire and adjoining counties.
Auctions will take place in Romans’ existing auction room in Bracknell. The next sale is on September 26.
Romans auctions director Simon Clayton said: “We’re very much looking forward to working with the Auction House network. We see it as a valuable business relationship that will deliver mutual advantages.”
Roger Lake, Auction House’s founding director, said: “We view this as the coming together of two powerful operators, whose combined strength should enable both businesses to expand.
“We already have more auction rooms than any other auctioneer in the country, and are entering more residential lots into our September sales than anyone else.
“We remain steadfast in our belief that properties sell more successfully when offered in-region, and our new auction room in Berkshire should enable local lots to achieve best price, as well as marking a further step in our planned growth towards comprehensive coverage of the UK.”
