Two more estate agency chains set up new homes consultancies

Two more agencies have set up new home divisions - a barometer of how they anticipate residential development becoming a bigger part of the agency industry in the future.

Hunters, one of the largest estate agency brands in the UK and recently listed on AIM, has launched a dedicated Residential Development Investment division with offices in Manchester and London.

The new division, trading as Hunters Land & New Homes, will focus on services for developers including land sourcing and acquisitions, consultancy, and the management of sales and marketing campaigns in both the UK and international market, spanning Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

“Our team is equipped to offer developers nationwide a complete and comprehensive service including consultancy, innovate marketing and branding, on-site and overseas sales and of course, access to our national database of clients through Hunters’ 160 branches throughout the UK” says Mike McManus, director of Hunters Land & New Homes’ Manchester office.

Meanwhile in London, Douglas & Gordon has launched its Residential Developments department, to be run by ex-Knight Frank partner and Savills director Neil Batty and by ex-Grainger director Peter Schwerdt.

Earlier this week another London agency - Marsh & Parsons - announced a new director for its two year old RDI department. David Duke joins Marsh & Parsons from Strutt & Parker, having previously also worked at Savills.

He has over 10 years of experience and will work alongside the Head of Residential Development and Investment, Charles Holland in a newly created director role.
