The Arbon Trust is allocating £10,000 to help past and present NFOPP members in financial difficulties as a result of flooding in their homes.
The trust - perhaps better known under its old name, the National Federation of Property Professionals Benevolent Fund, says it will help members of the NFOPP constituent bodies, namely the National Association of Estate Agents, Association of Residential Letting Agents, Institution of Commercial Business Agents, National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers and the Association of Professional Inventory Providers.
According to the Met Office December 2015 broke the record for the wettest month since records began in 1910. Parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and western Wales have been hit the worst, with twice the normal December rainfall.
Those members without insurance, or in financial hardship despite insurance, are invoted to apply to charityadministrator@arbontrust.org.
“Although we’re only a small charity with very limited resources the Arbon Trust wants to do our bit and provide financial support to those that need it the most” explains the trust’s chair Chris Brown.
“Unfortunately we cannot accept applications for support of friends or clients of past or present members and Arbon Trust only has very limited funds to assist, but I urge anyone meeting our criteria to get in touch and we’ll see what we can do within the confines of our resources and in the belief that every little helps” he adds.
“We are also appealing for donations from anyone who may wish to support the Arbon Trust in helping past and present members who are victims of the floods.”
