War of words goes on between Purplebricks and allAgents

The long running spat between review website allAgents and hybrid agency Purplebricks reignited over the weekend following a Facebook post.

A Purplebricks area manager posted on Facebook: “Over 40,000 positive reviews on Trustpilot, verified users of Purplebricks. allAgents is an unregulated site where anyone and everyone (including the competition) can post untrue reviews.”

This was in response to a Facebook user posting the comment: “Don’t. Awful. Take your money sell (sic) or no sale and then you’ll never hear from them. I’ve just removed my property with them” with a reference to AllAgents.”

AllAgents then responded by issuing a statement yesterday  in the name of its director Martin McKenzie saying: “Enough is enough. First Purplebricks’ lawyers send us threatening letters, now their own staff are trolling Facebook users to spread misinformation about us. All of our Purplebricks reviews – both positive and negative – are verified. I’m not convinced Trustpilot can say the same. What’s needed is an independent audit of both our reviews and Trustpilot’s. We’re very happy to allow that, the question is, are they? With such a wide disparity in ratings, it’s time consumers knew which review website they’re able to really trust.”

The bad blood between Purplebricks and AllAgents runs deep.

Last September allAgents suspended reviews of Purplebricks, saying it wanted to avoid possible legal action: Purplebricks had sent legal letters to the review site over a number of disputed statements about the agency’s performance.

When allAgents reinstated the reviews late in 2017, Purplebricks said: “We have asked on numerous occasions for evidence that would allow us to verify whether or not they were from genuine customers, allAgents have been unable or unwilling to share this data with us for reasons best known to themselves.”

The reason PB don't like AllAgents is that unlike TrustPilot they won't remove negative reviews.

Anyone had a look at Purplebricks Facebook page? I think the comments from unhappy customers on almost every post tells you all you need to know.

PB has over 42,000 reviews on trustpilot and all genuine; yeah right. To put that in perspective Foxton's have 3600.

Well said Justin P and what you dont say is that most of Foxtons reviews are negative, but you dont hear Foxtons bleating about it being unfair

Purple Bricks offered 1000's of their costumers money off their fee if they gave a positive reviews, as seen on watchdog. They are the Donald Trump of the industry, producing fake news to suit their own agenda!

This is a good read from Anthony Codling at Jefferies, it shows that only half of the people (51%) that pay up front actually sell successfully with PB. As you can imagine Anthony Codling at Jefferies is another company that's been threatened with legal action for broadcasting facts.

Half of the sellers never go on to complete a sale with PB, so PB need to accept the reviews. It’s the '£1,000 coin toss' the costumers don't like!
