Some may say that we’re almost in the ninth month of the year but for many, August Bank Holiday heralds the start of the second half of the year…and that means a fund-raising crescendo as we move towards Christmas. That move is starting this week with our reports of more terrific charity events, past and to come.
Everyone here has kindly contacted us at press@estateagenttoday.co.uk - please do the same and we’d love to feature your hard work this autumn. Right, off we go…
Agents Giving: Agents should start practicing their swing as the build-up commences to the Agents Giving Charity Golf Day on October 8. This year the event will be taking place at Morley Hayes Golf Club in Derbyshire and will be hosted by Agents Giving Directors David Newnes and Gareth Samples.
Teams will enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner and charity auction following a fun-filled day of golfing. Agents with a competitive streak can enjoy attempting to win prizes for longest drive and nearest the pin, as well as ‘best dressed’ which for a few years running was awarded to a very colourful Simon Whale.
Michael Stoop, Chairman of Agents Giving comments: “Our Agents Giving golf days are always extremely popular and we hope this one will follow in the success of previous golf events. Due to high demand so far, agents should ensure to sign up now to avoid disappointment. Those who do sign up can certainly look forward to a fun day of golf and fundraising.”
For more information on how to get involved with this event, please visit the Agents Giving website.
Agents Giving encourages, supports, and promotes agents’ fundraising efforts in order to raise as much money for their nominated causes, whilst having fun and enjoying working as a team.

Alzheimers Society: Jordan Falco, sales manager at Paul Wallace Estate Agents in Hoddesdon, has now successfully completed the Welsh Three Peaks challenge with a fantastic group called the Tewin Trekkers.
“They have for the past couple of years walked for charity. The National Three Peaks and Yorkshire Three Peaks were their last two challenges (my partner took part in the last one, this is my turn)” explains Jordan.
The walk took place over 24 hours with some driving between peaks, and some of the members include staff from other local agencies.
Here’s photographic evidence of the marvellous achievement - well done all!
Haven House Children’s Hospice: Neil, Michael, Chris and Bradley from Butler & Stag at Theydon Bois are taking part in a 54 mile bike charity ride.
The quartet are hoping to raise £5,000 by taking part by travelling from London to Brighton on Sunday, September 15.
“Our philosophy is simple” says managing director Neil Leahy: “As well as giving our clients and customers a first-class service we like to give something back to local community projects and charities that need our help.”
Butler & Stag was founded in 2012 and have been actively raising money ever since, generating over £40,000 for chosen good causes.

Seaford Striders: Estate agency Newberry and Tully is backing the young footballers in the Seaford Striders team for the fourth year running, allowing them to have access to Astro-turf pitches and smart now kit for the season.
A club spokesman says: “Such donations make us want to turn out each week to help our junior members get fit and it is good to have them visit us and see for themselves how much fun the youngsters have with us.”
