In normal times, the Winkworth team based at their Notting Hill office in west London would head to the fashionable Walmer Castle on a Friday evening for end-of-the-week drinks.
The pub is owned by David Beckham and Guy Ritchie and it’s a popular hang-out for hard-working agents.
Of course that’s not possible now so instead on Fridays at 5pm, head of sales Charles Erwin and the entire office of 12 people recreate the buzz of the Walmer Castle on Zoom, and enjoy drinks from their home offices, kitchens and sitting rooms, with a glass of beer or wine.
"It's been a great success as we all come together at the end of the week, as we would in the office. We have a general chat about work and what's been happening” explains Charles.
“Some furloughed staff also join in and tell us what they have been making and baking while off work. We’ve even had former colleagues joining us to catch up and children have also popped up and said hello to everyone. As we're all at home, there is no debate about a final drink before heading off! And we are all looking forward to getting back to the office and having a celebratory drink together ... at the pub.”
