Of course many agencies are reassessing their business models right now - a trend likely to continue throughout the autumn - but we’ll run PJT to bring readers up to date with new faces in new posts.

Let's start with Countrywide brand John D Wood & Co which has appointed Tanya Hasking as director of corporate and relocation services. 

Tanya returns to the business having previously held the role of regional lettings director at John D Wood & Co and associated brands APW Property, CHK Mountford and Vanet.

“The combination of John D Wood & Co., APW, CHK Mountford and Vanet allows for a truly unique offering to the corporate and relocation market which makes this opportunity all the more exciting. I feel very fortunate to be part of the team looking to take these incredible brands forward” explains Tanya.

And haart, which has been restructuring of late, has named John Cameron as its first estate agent director. 

John has worked in the industry for over 10 years and will lead the company’s new area team covering South London, Kent and spearheading growth into Sussex and Brighton.  

“I am so looking forward to the challenge,” he explains. “Success comes when every member of the team is focused on the same goal. Whatever your role, we all have a part of play and if we are all working together then we’ll be successful.”

And congratulations are in order for Charlie Maidment of Fox & Sons in Southampton, who has become the first ever qualified Junior Estate Agent under the Propertymark banner.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions requiring staff to work from home, there was an opportunity to fast forward plans to trial and roll out remote assessments, fulfilling a long-term ambition for the organisation. 

The Propertymark Qualifications team worked closely with their e-assessment provider to design a bespoke virtual assessment platform, recreating the controlled test environment necessary for regulated end-point-assessments.

Gary Elliott, assessment manager at Propertymark Qualifications comments: “We are delighted that Charlie passed and she was overjoyed she completed her apprenticeship to become the first ever Junior Estate Agent. Charlie had been furloughed in the four months running up to her assessment, so to succeed in her exam while being away from the workplace is very impressive.”

Finally this week, an unusual look at which major cities in the UK have the most significant numbers of vacancies for sales negotiators, lettings negotiators, sales progressors, lettings progressors, valuers and branch managers.

Research by Rayner Personnel shows that sales negotiators are most required in Swansea, Manchester, Plymouth, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Sheffield. 

Lettings negotiators are particularly required in Cardiff, Swansea, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.

Valuers were the most sought after job role in our industry in Newcastle, Leicester and Nottingham, while London is most in need of estate agent branch managers.

If you’re a progressor, there’s bad news - this skill has relatively few vacancies right now: sales progressors should look to Newcastle while lettings progressors are required in Bristol.
