Tragedy as family’s ‘last holiday ever’ motorhome is stolen

A family is appealing for help in tracing the whereabouts of a motorhome stolen from outside their house at Whitstable in Kent - a motorhome full of irreplaceable memories. 

Tom Lambert, a teacher, was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer in 2014 at the age of just 36.

His widow Bianca - in a post this week on Facebook - explained that “with two young children this news was an absolute blow and left us all totally heartbroken.” 

At the time, to fulfil a wish of Tom’s, the family put their savings into buying a motorhome which they then used to take their daughters and two dogs on the trip of a lifetime - to Spain and Portugal, across the south coast of France and through Italy and Germany too.

Bianca writes: “My husband sadly lost his life a little while later. Tom was an incredible husband, father, son, brother and friend and we miss him so much. My girls and I have since raised nearly £11,000 for pilgrims hospice, a charity close to our hearts who provided the love and support to both myself and husband during his last few months.”

Now the remaining members of the family have asked the media for help because the motorhome containing those memories has been stolen from a Whitstable street.

“I am appealing to anyone in the media to please, please run a story and help my girls and I get back what we so cherish and holds so many memories” Bianca explains.

She says her children are devastated and she herself is distraught.

The campervan is a white Fiat Dethleffs, with the registration LK14SVW. One side of the distinctive vehicle is covered in stickers from cities and countries the family visited on their European adventure.

Police say it is believed to have been stolen late on Thursday or early on Friday last week.
