Keller Williams has marked a record month for new agents but has announced the closure of its Bristol market centre hub just a year after its launch.
Ben Taylor, UK chief executive of the US-originated agency group, says Keller Williams helped 58 new agents setup their own businesses in March, beating the previous record of 47.
Taylor told Estate Agent Today: “It seems now that there is such a degree of success for the agent that it is catching on.
“Some of our agents will do more than £1m in fees this year.
“People are realising this and giving it a go.”
However, its market centre in Bristol, only setup in February 2021 is due to close, attributed to a lack of growth.
Taylor says: “We opened the Bristol market centre during Covid, which in truth had an impact.
“It struggled to grow fast enough.
“The centres are like hubs and create a convenient place where agents can access support.
“This was a challenge during the pandemic.
“There will still be agents serving Bristol.
“They wont have physical hub there so in our experience that means they may grow slower but they can use other market centres.”
Taylor says the closure was amicable and it was only supporting seven agents.
Most of these are expected to use a new hub being setup in Exeter instead.
The aim is to get this hub to support 100 agents.
