Beresfords: Employees at Essex-based property group Beresfords are taking part in a charity skydive to raise much-needed funds for mental health charity MIND.
The event will be taking place on Thursday 15 September, with the 10-strong team aiming to raise £5,000, which will be donated through the Beresfords Foundation.
The Foundation was set up in 2015 and is managed by independent charitable trust Essex Community Foundation (ECF), allowing the business to award grants annually from the Foundation to support local charities and voluntary groups in the county.
James Westbrook, one of the team members taking part in the skydive, said: “While I feel incredibly nervous about the idea of skydiving, the thought of raising money for a fantastic cause makes it all worthwhile.
“Many of us have experienced, or know someone who has, mental health struggles and without charities like MIND those people wouldn’t be able to get the help and support they need.”
Paul Beresford, chairman and managing director of the agency firm, said: “We are incredibly proud of the team for getting involved in such a courageous and brave activity, in aid of such a wonderful charity.
“As a family run business, we want to ensure that we work closely with our community.
“Establishing and growing the Beresfords Foundation has resulted in us supporting causes like this, as well as many other causes that are making a difference to people’s lives. We wish all the team the best of luck and will be cheering from down below!”

Arun Estates: From this month, Arun Estates, trading as Cubitt & West, Douglas Allen, Pittis and Wards, is giving £100 to charity for every property valuation its agents attend.
The brand hopes to raise £1m.
Group managing director Aldo Sotgiu said: “After such a difficult period for so many, we are horrified at the thought of the scale of families and children expected to suffer in the coming months. We understand our responsibility to giving back to those who need it the most in our local communities and are lucky to be in a position to be able to do so.
“ In recent years, Arun Estates have become increasingly known for their charitable efforts, with their staff taking part in everything from marathons and skydives to holding in-branch events and, this year alone, they have raised more than £20,000 for their charity partner, The Children’s Trust.
“Earlier this year, Arun Estates donated £50,000 to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal through The Rooney Foundation, the charitable trust set up by the group’s chairman, Paul Rooney and his wife Clare.”
Agents Giving: Agents and property professionals have swung into action for the annual Agents Giving Charity Golf Day.
Players returned to the rolling hills and courses of The Morley Hayes Golf Resort in Derbyshire yesterday for the event, hosted by Agents Giving chairman David Newnes and board member Gareth Samples with this year’sponsor Vaboo.
Newnes said: “It will be great to return to Morley Hayes as the atmosphere is always buzzing on the course with teams enjoying the challenges of the fairways and not forgetting the refreshments trolley.”
