DaBora Conway: London and Essex-based agent DaBora Conway has been collecting essential items such as toothpaste and soap to be distributed by The Hygiene Bank for those in need.
It is part of a network of 2,715 community partners that collects items on behalf of the charity, which said it has provided 1,059,000kg of the products through schools, food banks, family support services, refuges and other charities and organisations that support people with little or no access to hygiene essentials.
Native Residential: Build-to-rent operator Native Residential has partnered with giving platform Neighbourly to prioritise community and people-based projects for its employees and residents.
Neighbourly encourages businesses to support their local neighbourhoods and communities through a mix of activities to support essential and valuable local charities and ESG initiatives within communities.
This will be the platform’s first partnership with a real estate operator.
It will see senior team members visit UK charity FoodCycle to ‘spring clean’ food bank kitchens in London locations close to Dalston Works and No. 26, two of Native’s longest standing assets.
Native Residential employees will also be provided one volunteering day to do community work for the charities, neighbourhoods and initiatives that are important to them.
Guy Nixon, chief executive of Native Residential, said: “Neighbourly is a change for good, helping to ease logistics and connect our business to local community groups and charities – which is an essential foundation in creating enjoyable places for people to live, work and play.
“As a leading operator, we understand the importance of encouraging and enlivening the lives of our residents and local communities, but also the stakeholders that make it all happen – our employees. In a world that continues to remain turbulent and unpredictable, our partnership with Neighbourly hopes to bring joy, give back and build lasting relationships within our neighbourhoods.”
Steve Butterworth, chief executive of Neighbourly, added: "We're delighted to be working with Native Residential on their volunteering programme.
“Local charities and good causes are in need of support now more than ever and employee volunteering is a key part of that. Native is our first client in the BTR sector and we are looking forward to helping them connect with the causes in and around the locations where they operate and forge strong community relationships."
LH1 Global: International Property Consultants LH1 Global is supporting ShelterBox’s appeal to support those most affected by the recent series of powerful earthquakes that have devastated Turkey and Syria.
ShelterBox has deployed its urgent response team and will be supporting affected people in Syria and Turkey, focusing on the areas where the need for aid is greatest.
The Cornwall-based international disaster relief charity will be providing tents to help people to shelter from the winter weather, prevent the spread of disease, and offer privacy.
ShelterBox is also providing thousands of blankets and expect items like solar lights and mattresses to be in high demand. Warm children’s clothing is also being distributed in northern Syria, where the conditions are highly challenging.
Rayna Hunter, chief executive of LH1 Global, said: “ShelterBox is our appointed charity and one with values that align with our own. The moment the devastating news came out of Turkey and Syria we wanted to do all we could to support the team and if spreading the word of their work will make an impact to those most affected then we will do everything we can to spread the message and hopefully inspire donations to provide much needed supplies.”
Head of Emergency response for ShelterBox Alice Jefferson added: “Our teams are working around the clock to move aid into the affected regions of both Syria and Turkey. We are aware that this will be one of the most challenging humanitarian responses that ShelterBox and the international community have faced in the last decade.
“The numbers of people directly affected are numerically shocking – and we know that behind every statistic are people who need our help, including in very hard to reach, conflict affected regions.”
