Regional agent launches self-employed partner model

Preston Baker has launched a new partner model to help estate agents start their own business in the property world.

The new model sees estate agents onboarding as Preston Baker associates, self-employed agents who work under, and with the support of, the reputable Preston Baker brand.

The Yorkshire-based estate agency said it has minimised the risks usually associated with starting a self-employed career.

Agents are fully supported with lead generation, have their marketing costs covered and are guaranteed an income for the first nine months of their journey.

Associates are also assigned their own patch, counteracting the possibility of competing for business with other self-employed agents working under the Preston Baker brand.

Ian Preston, managing director at Preston Baker, said: “Supporting ambitious people to build their own businesses and unlock their true earning potential has been an incredible experience, and our new way of working has already started to revolutionise the industry.

“Our first cohort of associates have seen great success since starting their self-employed journey with us and in the second quarter of 2023 we grew our market share at Preston Baker by 27 per cent.

“At Preston Baker, we are always looking for new ways to innovate and improve our industry. We believe that associates should be rewarded for their hard work and extensive knowledge, benefiting from the profits which come with successful agencies.

“We welcome applications from both individuals and those who prefer to work as a partnership. With the support of the Preston Baker brand, associates can take control of their career, transform their earnings and unlock their lives.

“We truly believe that this is the future of estate agency.”
