Estate agency acquisitions expert Lucy Noonan has revealed the misogyny she has faced in the sector.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Two Russells estate agency podcast, Noonan, who founded her own agency acquisition advisory firm Atomic Consultancy in 2021 after years in senior roles at Belvoir, LSL and Lomond has outlined some of the challenges she faced.
Noonan revealed that she was approached one night while out for a drink by a senior male colleague where he said she only had her job because she was “just tits and teeth.”

She did not identify the individual or company she worked for, adding: “At the time I brushed it off, but this is why the Women in Estate Agency Group is here.
“It has affected me a lot more than I thought, I became more maverick, dressed differently and was overcompensating.”
Noonan also disclosed another incident where a male colleague said she needed to moderate her personality to be successful.
She said she soon realised it is possible to have a personality and be professional, adding: “That was another reason why I wanted to launch Atomic, to show you can be yourself.
“Sometimes in the traditional corporate world, white collar males think you have to be like that to be successful, you can be successful and you can be yourself.”
