A conveyancing firm with offices in Southampton and Salisbury is winner of the best conveyancer as voted by estate agents.
Trethowans took the title at the national LFS Conveyancing Awards after voting by EAT readers.
Three hundred votes were cast by EAT readers for conveyancing firms large and small and, noticeably, it was the smaller firms that won the day over the bulk conveyancers – suggesting that a good, efficient and communicative local service is more valued by agents than referral fees.
The shortlisted five were: Gaby Hardwick, with three offices in Sussex; Ashfords in Exeter; Thomas Legal Group, with offices in Gloucester and London; Frettons, with offices in Dorset and Hampshire; and Trethowans.
Awards organiser Richard Mathias, of Law Firm Services, said: “Many agents clearly love their local law firms and think they offer a top-class service.”
The awards attracted over 200 people to a gala dinner in Birmingham.
